Loveramics JM Warehouse

Architects: Zihan Zhao, Qing Ye

Client: Loveramics

Location: Jiangmen, China

Completed: September, 2022

A renovation should not erase the past, but refine it to match the sophistication of the new.

The original space was organized and clarified, allowing its volumes to support a new program that bridges architecture, interior design, and brand identity. The goal was to function as a warehouse for storage and packaging, a design-oriented office for staff, and a product showcase for visitors and clients. Display, administration, and staff coexist within one coherent system. This closeness reinforces operational efficiency while strengthening the relationship between conceptual design and material reality.

Within the office, features such as curtains introduce depth and rhythm. They soften the industrial aspect and create a tranquil working environment. The workspace supports focus and clarity, reflecting the studio’s belief that quality is expressed through proportion, detail, and restraint.

The showroom adopts a quieter strategy. Loveramics’ ceramics are given space to shine. Soft furnishings and controlled lighting frame the products, allowing material, texture, and craftsmanship to speak for themselves. The signature brand wall holds a strong presence, enclosed by glass and softened by curtains that filter light and encourage lingering. Here, the architecture recedes and becomes a neutral, intentional backdrop that celebrates the product narratives

An industrial shell redefined into a place of showcase, creation, exchange, and daily work. The project began with a raw environment. Excess elements, extra partitions, and visual noise were removed to reveal the generous proportions of this office and warehouse space. What remained was the light and concrete structure.

The key aspect of the renovation was to refine and match the sophistication of the brand. Instead of hiding the original industrial character, the design focuses on a minimal, warm backdrop that resonates with the brand’s values of craftsmanship, practicality, and enduring quality.

This project demonstrates that quality is not about addition but about refinement.

At the main gate, the brand’s signature name stands large and deliberate, signaling the space’s identity and reflecting the clarity of its packaging system. This bold gesture anchors the project’s dual role as both a workplace signature and a highlight of the brand’s image.

In the open courtyard and architectural envelope, subtle contrasts in tone and texture define the atmosphere. Light surfaces meet rougher ones. Solid planes meet filtered openings. These controlled differences shape distinct spatial experiences without relying on excess. The result is minimal and warm, calm yet precise.

By transforming an industrial warehouse into a purposeful place for design, packaging, operations, and product engagement, the space now serves both its users and its clients more meaningfully.

It stands as an example of how existing structures can be reinterpreted with precision and integrity, turning what was once purely functional into something purposeful, warm, and enduring.
